  10. Infosoft is a German company established since 1985 and has specialized
  11. in the conversion of applications and data.  CONVEYOR, Infosoft's
  12. conversion package, converts applications and data from a number of
  13. hardware environments to HP 3000 & HP 9000.  Infosoft manages and
  14. performs migration services for customers inside of Germany.  For
  15. customers outside of Germany, Infosoft license CONVEYOR to and partner
  16. with local system integrators and/or HP SE organizations.

  67. CONVEYOR consists of conversion programs, run time modules and service
  68. utilities.  With the conversion programs, you are able to convert
  69. online and batch application programs, screen forms and existing data.
  70. The run time modules imitate the environment of the origin computer on
  71. the target computer as far as it is necessary.  The service utilities
  72. include the code translation to target computer, administration all
  73. software items in special conversion libraries, generating procedures
  74. for the automation of all conversion steps, and performing other
  75. service functions.

  77. The conversion portion consists of three programs.  The first program
  78. analyzes and convert online & batch application programs and expands
  79. COPY & INCLUDE statements.  It covers the full COBOL language
  80. definition, removes all incompatibilities and repairs structural
  81. problems.  The program replaces calls to proprietary routines by calls
  82. to suitable run time modules and converts COPY and INCLUDE sequences
  83. implicitly.  It reports all changes in a conversion protocol, generates
  84. change notes into code, and delivers statistics about its structural
  85. analysis.  The COPY and INCLUDE statements may be nested if no
  86. replacement clause occurs.  They are virtually or actually expanded
  87. during conversion and may be expanded independent of conversion.

  89. The second program analyzes the original screen forms, stores the
  90. results in tables, and generates the target screen forms from them.  It
  91. creates an additional information file for features not present in the
  92. target system and generates missing COBOL screen declarations.

  94. The third program analyzes COBOL record definitions, stores the results
  95. in tables, and converts the code of data files according to them.  It
  96. recognizes different field formats and redefinitions which may be
  97. nested and imports the converted files into the target data storage.

  99. The run time modules provides a transaction control program that
  100. centralized access modules for databases and files, screen
  101. communication, printer control, main storage queues, interprocess
  102. pipelines, modules for the handling of common areas, the launch of
  103. background processes, and the imitation of other facilities of the
  104. origin computer.

  106. The utility programs carry out the transfer from computer to computer,
  107. administer the software components in special conversion libraries,
  108. generate procedures automation the whole portation process and perform
  109. other service functions.
